Color Guard Competes in Maryland Wing Competition

The Color Guard of the Carroll Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol competed March 14 in the Maryland Wing Color Guard Competition at Warfield Air National Guard Base near Essex. The team consisted of five cadets, ages 12-16: Jennifer Reed, of Westminster; Glen Edwards, of Finksburg; Alex Cahill, of Westminster; Joseph Maher, of Reisterstown; and Jacob Reed, of Westminster. The team won first place in the In-Ranks Inspection and first place in the Outdoor Practical Drill (flag raising ceremony). In addition, two cadets were received special awards: Cadet Maher scored the highest score on the written examination and Cadet Jennifer Reed was awarded the Outstanding Cadet of the Competition. This local Color Guard is available for local ceremonies. Information about the Carroll CAP squadron can be found at www.carrollcap.org. The squadron meets weekly at the Army Reserve Center in Westminster.
