Virginia Beach, VA – Members from the Carroll Composite Squadron attended the 2002 Neptune Air Show at Oceana Naval Air Station near Virginia Beach, VA. The airshow showcased demonstrations of Naval air power, including demonstrations of the F/A-18 Hornet, and F-14 Tomcat. The US Army and the Air Force provided additional demonstrations of the AH-67 Apache helicopter and A-10A Thunderbolt II, respectively.

In addition to the aerial performances, there were several aircraft on display from all branches of the service, as well as World War II – era aircraft such as P-51 Mustangs, and AT-6 Texans.

Many of the squadron members took advantage of the opportunity to get tickets for front-row seating which offered a spectacular view of the show.

The Neptune airshow is billed as one of the finest airshows on the East Coast. This year’s show was no exception. All photos in this article are provided courtesy of CSM Kevin McHale.
